Lee: first job & retirement

Annual Picnic of the Benton & Hopkins Inv. Co. & The Oberlin National Bank
At Oberlin Country Club, June 20, 1925

Lee Kump, Chris Jorn, Hazel Bobbitt, future Mrs Kump
Lee would soon marry Hazel Bobbitt and leave the bank to go to work for Roberts Motors (Ford) dealer. After WW II Lee became the Ford dealer in a new building built by Hazel’s brother Ray Bobbitt.
Chris Jorn left the bank and became a farmer NE of Oberlin, after his kids were gone he sold the farm, came to town and worked for Lee in Ford garage as his book keeper. Chris died and Hazels took over as the book keeper.
Don Kump bought the Ford dealership after Lee and Hazel retired.
Jack Kump bought the Ford dealership from Don and ran it until a short time before Jack died.
Population of the county fell, from near a peak when above photo was taken, by 1999 there was no longer a car dealership in Oberlin.
